Overall, I find it really hard to find 'right' spots in cities like Bangalore, Mumbai or New Delhi. Once you know local people that share the same (or sometimes exact opposite!) interests, you'll get so much more out of your journey - especially in India.
I often hear from Westerns, that people visited in the places like New Delhi or Bangalore and 'did not like it'. And I can definitely understand that. For the same breath, I can say that I really much enjoyed it in India and I am lucky to have amazing, local friends in all of those cities mentioned above.
